Ryan Wendell Bauer and the MIDI Sixteen
"Happy Friday"

Ryan Wendell Bauer and the MIDI Sixteen's "Happy Friday" is a light-hearted danceable ode to office pleasantries. Makes me think about The Talking Heads and Flight of the Conchords, while making a cameo in an episode of The Office playing Nintendo. This is dedicated to anyone listening from a cubicle... Especially on this Friday afternoon. How fitting! Enjoy!

Scilter
"Face of My Hero"

I saw Scilter at the Rock Solid Pressure Showcase last week and was impressed with their tight vocals, good songcrafting and appealing stage presence. I think this band has a future among fans of Nickelback, Three Days Grace and 3 Doors Down. Enjoy!

Trace of Day
"Bad Luck Dept."

Trace of Day's "Bad Luck Dept." is a catchy emo power-rock tune freshly cooked by TOD and Scott Fravala of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus fame. In their new EP, Scott's production style mixed with TOD's tight rhythms make for a winning combo. Enjoy!

Ronnie Dee
"She Was"

Ronnie Dee's "She Was" is a poppin', rockin' ode to an unattainable chickadee that sounds like Weezer meets Electric Light Orchestra. Mos def a tune that you'll replay all day both through your speakers and in your head. Enjoy!

The Redlight Stare
"Moving on Air"
from Moving on Air Single

Lo-fi phunk that is soft on structure and a message without comprehension. You can write your own words. Listen to yourself for a change. Enjoy!

Jonathan Meek & The Mutes
"The City I Love"
from Iron & Pity

This songs reminds me of a mix between Audioslave and Ataxia. Jonathan Meek is not timid about his new self-released EP, Irony & Pity. "I want this to be something awesome and real and different," he says. The record, like Jonathan himself, is all of those things and more. Irony & Pity is completely DIY: recorded and mixed in the local church where Jonathan's dad preaches. It's credited to Jonathan Meek & the Mutes, but nearly every note recorded was performed by Jonathan himself. Enjoy!

Anareta
"Internalize"
from No Lip Vol. 1

Anareta's "Internalize" is a personal narrative about a sibling's struggle with his brother's affliction. The song's powerful presence is what drew me to it. Along the lines of Tool and Deftones, Anareta's sound is both melodic and dark. Enjoy!

Knowing Stu
"Beautiful Lady"
from No Lip Vol. 1

Knowing Stu's "Beautiful Lady" is an epic opus of maternal adoration. One of the most powerful songs on No Lip Vol 1, "Beautiful Lady" showcases what makes this Dunedin, FL quartet excellent: stellar and powerful vocals and a solid rhythm section. Enjoy!
